MoreHarvest

Japanese property investment platform. iOS, Android, and web.

Overview

Cross-platform investment app for 5 regulated APAC markets. Enables Japanese real estate investment across Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore with financial law compliance, multi-language support, institutional credibility.
MoreHarvest had 20 years property expertise but no digital product. I built evidence-based development process where every design decision was validated before engineering began.

Constraints

Approach

Our PM and I built the testing framework and created metrics for clarity, confidence, conversion.
Every design decision as testable hypothesis:

Define → Test → Measure → Decide → Document → Ship.

01

Discovery & audit

First four weeks:
Understanding what existed and why it failed. Captured every gap in the Problem Definition Matrix.
Decision:

No design work until problem space fully mapped.

02

Testing framework

Before designing, we established a repeatable structure:
If [design change] then [expected outcome] measured by [specific metric]
We defined metrics for clarity, confidence, and conversion. Every test produced a decision report.
Decision:
No design moves to engineering without documented evidence.

03

Testing rounds

Each round tested a different part of the product. We ran 9 rounds total, from basic navigation to full MVP.

04

Design system

Built Moha DS in parallel. Every validated decision graduated into component library.
Cross-platform parity:
iOS, Android, web share same token structure. Figma for design, Storybook for engineering. Automated checks prevent divergence.

05

Decision framework

After each round, compiled the results into decision reports. Recorded every change in the decision journal. Created institutional memory.

06

Launch ready

Product launched with a foundation built on evidence. Every flow tested, component documented, decision traceable. Now iterating based on live data from real investors.

Challenges

Designing across 5 regulated markets meant legal requirements became design constraints. Limited investor access meant every session had to be maximally productive.

Biggest challenge:
Maintaining parallel workflows without blocking each other.

Insights

Trust accumulates through proof. Evidence became primary design material, not intuition. Establishing research practice was as valuable as interface design.
