Meet Studio Minofmeer

Narrative-driven furniture & craft

Minofmeer believes design should adapt—sometimes less (MIN), sometimes more (MEER). Rejecting one-size-fits-all formulas, the studio crafts story-driven furniture and hand-made objects shaped by context and opportunity. Through research, prototyping, and material exploration—wood, bamboo, rush grass, metals—Minofmeer transforms ideas into lasting pieces, embracing change and curiosity to shape thoughtful, globally inspired work.

Biography

In 2014, Riaan Burger moved to Taiwan to study Chinese and Industrial Design, immersing himself in a culture where craftsmanship, materiality, and adaptability play a central role. This experience reshaped his perspective on design—not as a fixed formula but as a responsive, evolving practice.

Inspired by this philosophy, he founded Minofmeer in 2017 on the idea that design should be circumstantial—sometimes requiring less (MIN) and sometimes more (MEER). The studio balances simplicity and complexity to create furniture and crafted objects that are both intentional and dynamic.
